Rwanda Energy Group (REG) women's basketball club on Tuesday, October 29, defeated Burundian side Gladiators 86-34 to finish unbeaten in the group stages of the Women's Basketball League-Africa (WBL-Africa) Zone 5 Qualifiers which are underway at Amaan Indoor Stadium.
The 2023 Zone 5 silver medalists achieved a perfect 3-0 record to secure the top spot in Group C.
The electricians started strongly, dominating the first quarter 30-6 and the second 18-16, to head into halftime with a 48-22 advantage.

Julian Martinez’s ladies continues their dominance in the second half, taking the third quarter 22-4 and the final quarter 16-8 to record a deserved 86-34 victory.
Kenyan small forward Victoria Reynolds led the way with 16 points and 5 rebounds, while point guard Destiney Philoxy and center Kristina Morgan added 15 and 11 points respectively as REG advanced to the quarterfinals unbeaten.
APR into quarterfinals after destroying Hawassa City
APR also marched into the quarterfinals after winning their first two Group B games.
The military side improved to 2-0 after defeating Hawassa City 123-38 on Tuesday.

APR opened a 28-point gap after claiming the first quarter 34-6 before taking the second quarter 30-18 to head into halftime leading 64-24.
Charles Mushumba’s ladies looked not ready to stop scoring, dominating the third quarter 27-10 and the final quarter 32-4.
