Kepler volleyball club showcased a formidable performance, coming from a set down to secure a 23-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-17 victory over Kigali Volleyball Club in a four-set thriller on Sunday, October 27.

The pair were playing one of the men’s national league matches the local volleyball governing body rescheduled from Saturday as the fixture schedule seemed too hectic for lone venue, Petit Stade indoor gymnasium, to host.

Kepler entered the court with energy, putting up a spirited challenge in the first set. Their attacking threats in the early stages, however, didn’t shake KVC whose well-organized defense and powerful spikes allowed them to take control, hence clinching the set 23-25.

Fidele Nyirimana made some few adjustments in the second set and Kepler started to click in all aspects. By leveraging quick passes and avoiding relying on individuals but work as a team to narrow the gap, they ultimately edged out KVC 25-16 to even the score at 1-1.

The third set marked Kepler’s comeback. They tightened their defense and executed sharp attacks that left KVC struggling to keep up. The set ended 25-13 in favor of Kepler.

Kepler maintained their momentum in the four and final set. They pushed through with consistency and agility, and claimed it 25-17 to seal the victory.

In earlier games of the women’s category, APR dominated RP Huye WVC APR with a convincing 3-0 (25-13, 25-9, 25-12) victory. RP Huye WVC displayed commendable effort in the beginning, looking to win the opening set but APR’s organized plays and tactical prowess ultimately gave them the edge.
