Miss JoJo goes international

With her captivating beauty, unmatched talent and legion of fan followers, Miss JoJo is an iconic name in Rwanda’s music industry, she has now set her career for the international scene.

The 25-year-old Rwandan star found time in between training sessions to pose for a fashion shoot in the studio.

With her captivating beauty, unmatched talent and legion of fan followers, Miss JoJo is an iconic name in Rwanda’s music industry, she has now set her career for the international scene.

After winning the 2008 Pearl of African Music Awards as the: "Best Female Rwandan R&B Artiste”, in Uganda, Miss JoJo earned a lot of fame within and across boarders. In fact, she is now busy preparing herself for her mega music concert in Sweden, June 26, during the "One Dollar Campaign.”

The 25-year-old, hip hop singer was born in Bugesera, Eastern Rwanda, and attained a BA degree from the National University of Rwanda.

Miss JoJo who maintains her birth name as Josiane Uwineza, is considered Rwanda’s hottest singer.

The "Genesis” songster will also perform alongside Uganda’s famous vocalists Bebe Cool and Vamposs, among other musicians scheduled to sing during the Kwita Izina concert in Kigali.

The sensational singer will be among  the three local musicians (Ben, Liza and Miss JoJo), who will participate at the African Music Festival, Algeria, July 3. She is a singer, songwriter and dancer. Miss JoJo has all the trappings of producing as many tracks as possible, with gripping lyrics.

Her debut album "Itangiriro”, (Genesis’), released in December, 7, and launched at Kigali Serena Hotel, contains usual universal flavours of Afrobeat, highlife, reggae, dancehall, R&B, and of course hip hop.

Her power and grace in the music industry has earned her fame. She has a background based on a wide experience on performing arts, like the traditional and contemporary dance.

She has performed in more than 25 shows of different categories, ranging from the international and national music festivals, which included the East African Party, Pan African Dance Festival (FESPAD) and FESPAM (Pan African festival of the Music).

Miss JoJo has also performed alongside some of the international musicians, the likes of P-Square (Nigeria’s famous twines), Brick and Lace, Sean Paul and Shaggy.
