Rwanda’s football governing body, Ferwafa has hit back at Henri Munyaneza for refusing to play for Amavubi Stars. The Belgium-based striker, who last played for Rwanda during the second round of the 2010 World/ Africa Nations Cup qualifying campaign made it clear that he would only play for the Wasps if they met his demands.
According to reliable sources, the player demanded a higher wage than his fellow players. However, Ferwafa’s Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa has told Munyaneza to stop dreaming.
"It would be extremely unfair and unjust to pay him more than his colleagues,” said the furious Kalisa, adding that, "It’s a pity to beg someone to do something for his country.”
"He has always insisted on the same amount of money we paid to him when Rwanda played against Mauritania but the federation has policies, and it’s not a matter of who is worthy how much, but good collaboration between the federation and the players.”
"We will not bow down to some arrogant player,” the official added. Amavubi head coach Tucak Branko refused to comment about Munyaneza’s issue, claiming that the issue was not worthy commenting on.
Munyaneza currently plays for Germina Beerschot, which is affiliated to Fulham FC in England.
