Ruhinda nets winner as Bugesera FC pile more misery on SC Kiyovu

Striker Farouk Ruhinda scored the match winner in the 89th minute as Bugesera FC beat SC Kiyovu 2-1 at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Saturday, October 26.

The result was Kiyovu’s fifth defeat in a row, putting the club’s campaign from bad to worse.

Girlbert Tuyihimbaze scored the opening goal in the 38th minute to fire the visitors ahead before pair headed into halftime.

Kiyovu dominated the ball possession in the second half until they equalized in the 83rd minute through Djuma Nizeyimana who from the spot.

The green baggies thought they were taking home at least a point but former APR striker Farouk Ruhinda Ssentongo broke the home supporters when he scored the winning goal in the 89th minute.

The result left Joslin Bipfubusa’s side at the bottom of the table with just three points from six games played so far this campaign.

Meanwhile, Gorilla FC climbed to the top of the table with 14 points after beating Amagaju FC 3-0 on Friday.

In other matches, Vision FC thrashed Marine FC 4-0 in Saturday’s earlier match. Striker Onesme Twizerimana Twizerimana scored a hat trick beforr Omar Nizeyimana added another to take a first half lead.

Elsewhere, Abdel Aziz scored the lone goal in the 47th minute as Gasogi United beat Rutsiro 1-0 at Umuganda Stadium while Mukura VS were held by Muhazi United to a goalless draw.
