Coach Calum Shaun Selby has been sacked by Vision FC

English coach Calum Shaun Selby has said that he was building a promising Vision FC side but the club management was too fast to fire him as results weren’t going his side.

Selby was relieved off his duties on Friday, October 25, due to a string of poor results leaving them at the bottom of the table.

Despite the sack, the Briton said he is proud that he laid down a good foundation from which his successor can carry on to build a team capable of staying in the league next season.

"Everyone can attest that we played the best football in the league though results just didn&039;t go our way. We also had some refereeing decisions against us," Selby told Times Sport.

"I believe I have laid down the foundation, Rome wasn't built in a day and everyone can attest. We played good football and holding big guns like Police and AS Kigali is a testament," he added.

Vision FC had failed to win a single game in their previous six outings, drawing twice and losing four times.

And it took the club hours, since Selby’s sacking, to register their first win of the season when Onesme Twizerimana bagged a hat trick as the league newcomers thrashed Marines FC 4-0 at Mumena Stadium on Saturday, October 26. The win saw them climb to 12th place with five points.

Assistant coach Camarade Banamwana is currently handling the club on an interim role.
