The Menendez Brothers

This is a 2024 American true crime documentary on Netflix. It tells the story of Lyle and Erik Menendez, who were found guilty in 1996 of killing their parents on August 20, 1989.

In the documentary, for the first time in almost 30 years, the brothers explain what happened and why they did it, speaking through audio interviews from prison, where they are still serving time.

The film also features others connected to the case, such as family members, lawyers, jurors, journalists, and lead prosecutor.

Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare

The 2024 Netflix film tells the true story of Kirat Assi, who, in 2009, began an online relationship with Bobby Jandu, a supposed cardiologist from New York. They formed a close bond, sharing their lives through calls and messages. However, Bobby always had excuses for why they couldn't meet in person, including being in witness protection and suffering from serious health issues.

In 2018, Kirat discovered the truth: Bobby was a real person living in England, but he had no idea who she was. The person behind the decade-long scam was Kirat’s own cousin, Simran Bhogal.

Sing

The 2016 animated film follows Buster Moon, an animal that owns a struggling theatre that’s about to be closed. To save it, he decides to hold a singing competition with a $1,000 prize. However, his assistant Miss Crawly accidentally prints flyers offering $100,000, and they spread across the city.

Animals flock to audition. Buster tries to get the money for the prize but faces setbacks, and the contestants struggle with personal challenges. Despite everything, Buster and the singers pull together and host a successful outdoor show that saves the theatre.

The Predator

In the 2018 film a spaceship crashes on Earth, and sniper Quinn McKenna fights an alien Predator. After escaping from a government lab, the Predator hunts for its missing technology. Quinn teams up with soldiers and his son Rory, whose autism helps him understand Predator tech. They battle a stronger Predator, ultimately defeating it. In the end, Quinn discovers advanced Predator technology meant to help humans defend against future alien threats.

Unhinged

In this 2020 film, a man named Tom, after killing his ex-wife and her boyfriend, becomes enraged when single mother Rachel honks at him during traffic. Tom follows her, switches their phones, and starts a violent pursuit. He tracks down and kills her lawyer, Andy, and threatens to harm more people close to her, including her son, Kyle. Tom attacks Rachel’s family and causes chaos, but Rachel ultimately fights back, killing him to protect Kyle.

Venom: Let there be Carnage

In this 2021 sci-fi film, a serial killer Cletus Kasady is imprisoned and about to be executed. He bites journalist Eddie Brock, unknowingly ingesting part of Eddie's alien symbiote, Venom. This creates a new, powerful symbiote named Carnage, which helps Cletus escape prison and free his lover, Frances. Together, they plan to kill Eddie and Venom. Meanwhile, Venom has a fight with Eddie and leaves, but later reunites with him to stop Carnage.

Woman of the Hour

This film which was released in 2023 goes back to 1977, where a serial killer Rodney Alcala strangles a woman he was photographing in Wyoming. In 1979, he meets Amy, a runaway, and tricks her into coming with him for a photoshoot. He attacks her in the desert but she later escapes. In 1971, Rodney kills a flight attendant named Charlie in New York.

In 1978, aspiring actress Cheryl Bradshaw appears on 'The Dating Game', where Rodney is a contestant. Although he wins a date with her, Cheryl senses something is off. After a tense encounter, she escapes from Rodney’s advances.
