Skenya motors to invest $1 million in Rwanda

Skenya Motors, a leading Scania buses and trucks dealer in East Africa is eyeing the Rwandan market.

Management of this Swedish company currently in Kenya and Uganda says they will invest $1 million (about Frw545 million) to in Rwanda.

Niaz Nathoo, the managing director of the company Tuesday said they are to set-up a spare parts centre, a workshop and maintenance centre for Scania products by next year. Nathoo said Kigali will be the hub to supply and serve the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi clients.

"We have many clients in these 3 countries. This is why we have decided to move to Kigali to reduce their costs,” he said.
