Uwimpuhwe joins REG women ahead of FIBA Zone V championship

Rwanda Energy Group (REG) women basketball club have acquired shooting guard Henriette Uwimpuhwe ahead of the upcoming FIBA Africa Zone 5 Club Championship.

The Rwandan champions depart for Zanzibar on Friday, October 25, for the regional tournament which runs from October 27 through November 2, bringing together clubs from around the East African region.

Uwimpuhwe previously played for Kepler Basketball Club and helped the team secure a third place finish during the 2024 Women Basketball League season.

She finished the 2023 season as the league top scorer and she now hopes to bring her shooting exploits to the club and help them win the competition.

The Zone V championship serves as a qualifier for the 2024 FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Women. Rwanda will have two representatives including REG W BBC and APR W BBC.
