Kagame meets Rhineland-Palatinate leaders

President Paul Kagame on Thursday, October 27, received Malu Dreyer, Minister-President of Rhineland-Palatinate and Hendrik Hering, President of Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate in his office at Urugwiro Village.

They discussed the success of the partnership in sectors of education, health among others as well as opportunities for collaboration in new areas including sports and renewable energy, according to the President’s office.

The senior officials are in Rwanda for the 40th Anniversary of the partnership between Rwanda and the Rhineland-Palatinate which was celebrated on October 25.

Reports have it that the partnership has achieved the success of more than 2,000 projects valued at over €100 million across various sectors.

"I strongly believe that this existing partnership will result in further remarkable achievements in years to come. As we consolidate our achievements, we also see opportunities to extend this partnership in areas of infrastructure development, urbanization, and housing,” said Vincent Biruta, Minister of Foreign Affairs during the celebration event.

During their stay, the delegation was also able to visit different sites where the projects are implemented.
