Broadband Systems Corporation (BSC) has refreshed its brand with a new logo that emphasises a new value in the services it has been providing for 15 years that have helped Rwandans use the internet and other related services.
The official unveiling took place at the Kigali Convention Centre on October 18, 2024, with the participation of employees, managers, and partners of the centre.
During the event, BSC’s role in helping Rwandans use the internet for the past 15 years was highlighted. The company started by providing internet only to companies and government agencies, but gradually expanded and sold it to the private sector.
The CEO of BSC, Gilbert Kayinamura, said that the new logo was not only a symbol they wanted to show but also to strengthen the teams they have and the company’s new vision.
He said, "The logo is not the only colour we changed, but it is to show that we have reached the point where development is starting to change and we don’t just have to provide the internet. We also want to go into various other technological activities including applications and other solutions that Rwandans and those outside the country need. This new logo shows that we are ready to change a lot of what we do according to what the market needs today.”
Kayinamura went on to say that in the last 15 years, BSC is proud of the progress it has made in the public and private sectors and that this journey is continuing.
He said, "We started with a few people, including those who did not know the internet itself. We gave it to them and taught them how to use and maintain it, and today, it has reached as many as possible and helps them increase their productivity.”
Government Chief of Innovation Officer at Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA) Antoine Sebera, praised BSC’s contribution to the spread of high-speed broadband internet and the institute's new focus on innovation.
Sebera emphasised that internet technology is also associated with the proper management of user data.
He said, "We are teaching people how to manage their own safety on the internet, but we also have a company that we work with specifically to approach people and provide them with tools that help us keep the information of internet users safe.”
Sebera urged people to refrain from using the internet for harmful activities such as theft and security disruptions but to use it constructively and develop it.
Broadband Systems Corporation is a company that has sold internet in Rwanda since 2008 and has the ability to deliver it to all regions of the country.
