Rwamagana implements 2008 HIV/Aids orientation plan

RWAMAGANA—In addition to evaluating what has been achieved in the ending year, Rwamagana district has started making its HIV/Aids orientation plans for the upcoming 2008 year.

The orientation plan was discussed during a recent one-day meeting bringing together district officials, HIV/Aids committees (CDLS) with HIV/AIDS and partners operating from the district. 
Mayor Valens Ntezirembo urged health organizations operating in the district to present their action plans in time in order to be reoriented accordingly. He assured them of the district’s guidance to avoid duplication of services.

"We call on HIV/AIDS partners to always make their action plans and to present them to the district authorities in time,” Ntezirembo said.

He further urged organizations making pledges to work hand-in-hand with CDLS to see that the pledges and plans were fulfilled in time.

Alphonsine Musabyemariya, in charge of coordination, monitoring and evaluation of HIV/AIDS activities in Rwamagana district said that the role of family in the fight against the virus remained paramount.

The meeting was attended by local and international HIV/Aids organizations operating in Rwamagana district, church representatives and the district health officials.
