RUSIZI — Businessowners in Rusizi District have been warned against tax evasion. The call was made by Mary Baine, the Commissioner General of Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA), while meeting traders and bankers at Peace Guest House conference hall in Kamembe, on Wednesday.

"I advise you traders operating different businesses in this district to always uphold your tax obligations and pay on time …as this will enable you and our nation to develop rapidly,” Baine urged.

She also urged entrepreneurs to declare their revenues to the RRA offices in the area, while sharing their business experiences with others. She further encouraged them to seek loans from banks which she said can help them to boost their business activities.

Rwandan traders, she added, should be prepared to compete with their counterparts in the East African Community.
