Are you a football fan or a footballer’s fan?

Football, for all its faults, is still the best sport in the world. But it has become an increasingly ugly mix of greed and misfortunes with some fans hanging themselves after a loss. It needs to be taken down a little and supporters are the best ones to do it.

Football, for all its faults, is still the best sport in the world. But it has become an increasingly ugly mix of greed and misfortunes with some fans hanging themselves after a loss. It needs to be taken down a little and supporters are the best ones to do it.

There is this thing that if you don’t know anything about premier league, then you are taken to be ignorant or just shady. Women have not been left behind in this international football craze.

After listening to most of them discuss after a match, one is usually left to wonder whether they are really football fans or footballers’ fans.

Would you name all the players of the team you support? Do you have any clue on the difference between champions’ league and premier league?

If not, then you are not a football fan as you claim to be. For how much was Kaka, (AC Milan) recently traded for and which team did he join? Is there any lady out there with an answer? See! You do not know.

Most of these ladies either support Man-U or Arsenal. When asked why, Man-U fans will always say that it is because of Chriatiano Ronaldo’s looks. Arsenal fans will ask "Haven’t you noticed Adebayor’s latest hair style?”

"I used to support Arsenal but now I am a die hard Barcelona supporter. When Thierry Henry shifted to Barca, I followed him.”

Marie Explained. She continues by adding that she even knows that he is now divorced to that good for nothing blond. Clearly ladies let us define being football fans and being footballers’ fans.

A real fan is one who is able to name the entire first team squad and be able to discuss the relative strengths and weaknesses of their team but that is hardly the case for ladies.

Even when the match is scheduled to some ungodly hour, a real fan should not have an excuse like "this time Didier Drogba is not on the first line up so I can’t waste my sleep to watch muscle less Chelsea players.”

Some have even gone into some sort of depression just by wishing they were close to chelsea’s owner since the team has more money than the bank of England.

If a whole Man-u female fan can wish for Wayne Rooney who happens to be one of their best striker’s transfer to some unknown club just because he has a nerdish look then clearly it’s never about the game for ladies but about the players.

It is however not that bad a thing to love the players because you are not alone. Even companies that are advertisers and sports goods manufacturers hire these players to sponsor their products.

David Beckham has been a trend setter in England with his hair styles changing bi- weekly thus triggering copycat looks in the country.

Finally, now that Formula 1 has started gaining popularity with the likes of Button the current winner shinning his way up and making headlines, I am sure sooner than later we will hear ladies in support of either Hamillton or Ferrari.

Please ladies; there is no match to look at in the sport so just feel free continuing to drool at Thiery Henry hoping that you are the next future Ex- wife. If you can dream it, then most likely you can become it……still in your dream though.
