Rayon Sports started where they stopped before the international break, as Youssou Diagne and Fall Ngagne scored from either half in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Bugesera FC at Kigali Pele Stadium.

Skipper Kevin Muhire masterminded the game, setting up both goals to help the Blues move to second place on the standings.

Rayon didn't let Bugesera FC to settle as they piled pressure on them from the blast of the whistle. The first chance of the game came in the 5th minute as Aziz Bassane shot into the hands of goalkeeper Marc Arthur Arakaza.

But the visitors responded immediately as their skipper Kaneza launched a fierce attack towards Khadime Ndiaye’s goal before he was brought down just a few metres from the Blues penalty box. Faustin Niyomukiza had the chance to send the free kick into the net but it missed the target.

Rayon Sports forward Fall Ngagne missed a glorious chance after his shot from inside the box was saved by Arakaza. The shot stopper went down injured for some minutes before returning to action after undergoing a brief medical treatment.

Rayon finally broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute as Youssou Diagne soared high above his marker to head home the resultant corner kick from Kevin Muhire, sending the home team’s supporter in jubilations.

Kaneza thought he had pulled the scores even 10 later missed but he thwarted his chance as he shot feebly into Khadime Ndiaye’s hands.

The visitors continues to dominate the ball possession but Yannick Bizimana also wasted two glorious chances in the 38th and 42nd minute dismay of coach Francis Haringingo.
