They were nominated by a Cabinet meeting chaired by President Paul Kagame on Friday, October 18.

They will both need the approval of the Senate.

Munyangaju will remain ambassador-designate until she is also approved by the government of Luxembourg.

At Rwanda Cooperation Initiative, Uwase replaces Amb. Christine Nkulikiyinka who was named Minister for Public Service and Labour in August.

Both Uwase and Munyangaju had been dropped from Cabinet in August.

Meanwhile, the same Cabinet meeting approved a presidential order pardoning 32 convicts, and a ministerial order granting release on parole to 2,017 inmates, according to a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister.

Other resolutions included the approval of a Host Country Agreement between the Government of Rwanda and the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) for the establishment of IVI’s Africa Regional Office in Rwanda.

The Cabinet also approved applications for Rwandan nationality.
