AS Kigali’s quest for this year’s league title took a down turn after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat against Inyemera at Kicukiro artificial turf.

The lone goal of the match was scored by defender Claudette Uwimana on the 74th minute and despite their dominance, the Kigali City Council side failed to find an equalizer.

After the game a furious AS Kigali coach Grace Nyirawumuntu slammed Inyemera, insisting that they did not deserved to win because they used negative tactics throughout. 

Meanwhile, reigning champions APR failed to capitalize on AS Kigali’s slip up after a barren away draw against Musanze at Ubworoherane stadium.

AS Kigali’s lead at the top of the table is now down to a point. APR is second with 21 points while Musanze wraps up the top three slots with 20 points.
