Musanze’s  invisible run in the second division came to a shocking end after yesterday’s 1-0 defeat over Nyanza.

Although the visitors dominated the match, they were made to pay for lapse in front of goal when Nyanza’s striker Dieudonne Kwizera gave his side the lead 15 minutes from time.

It was a precious win for them as they moved into third spot in Group A. After the game, Musanze coach Rafiki Nshiyimana was very bitter with his side’s performance and cautioned his team to raise their game in the remaining games.

"We were not sharp today. We created a number of chances but just couldn’t find the break through. They (Nyanza) had one or two chances and made the most of it,” he said in his post match interview.

The win left Nyanza on level points (20) with Military although the later enjoys a superior goal difference.

Musanze still top Group A with 29 points.

In Group B, Muhanga leapfrogged Etincelles at the top after a 2-0 victory over Gisovu.

Etincelles on the other hand suffered their second successive defeat after a 1-0 defeat against Aspoir. It was not the result Etincelles were looking for as they plot for a return to the first division.

Muhanga are now league leaders with 29 points, followed by Etincelles with 27 points and UNR are third with 24 points.
