The 2022/23 second division league season is rescheduled to start on November 5 instead of the previously set October 29 kick off, the local football governing body (Ferwafa) has informed clubs.
The change of dates comes following delays in issuing final licenses allowing clubs to compete in the second division league.
It also serves to buy time for clubs to make final touches on their home grounds after the federation’s inspection committee realized that some football grounds don’t fulfil the standards required by the federation to host league matches.
Some second division clubs will be looking to dethrone reigning champions, Sunrise FC, who earned a promotion to the top flight league after advancing to the final of last season’s league alongside Rwamagana City.
