No person was injured when a fire broke out at Hotel Muhabura in Musanze District on Monday, October 14, the Police have said.
The fire, which started around 10PM, mainly affected the hotel's bar and restaurant area, along with five storage rooms.
"No one was injured in the incident,” Superintendent Bosco Mwiseneza, the police spokesperson for Northern Province, told The New Times on Tuesday.
The Police Fire and Rescue Brigade arrived at the scene and put out the blaze before it could spread to other parts of the hotel, he said.

Mwiseneza added that investigation was ongoing to identify the exact cause of the fire.
The extent of the damage was also still being assessed.
"The key message to the public is to remain vigilant and take precautions to prevent fire accidents. Fires not only cause property damage but also put people's lives in danger,” Mwiseneza said.
"It’s essential for everyone to be aware of potential fire hazards and take necessary measures to minimize risks.”
It remains to be clear whether Hotel Muhabura continued operations. The New Times could not get a comment from the hotel management or the owner.
Hotel Muhabura is one of the oldest hotels in Rwanda, having been established between 1954 and 1956. Originally called Hotel Mimosa, it was renamed after one of Rwanda's five volcanoes.
