Rwandan songstress Butera Knowless made her mark in Denver, Colorado, making her debut performance in the United States on October 12.

The singer, born Jeanne d’Arc Ingabire Butera, was the star act at the African Rhythms show which served as a celebration of culture, bringing together music lovers at Reel Works in Denver to experience the vibrant sounds of African artistry.

Organized by Global Livingston Institute, a US non-profit organization, the show attracted an impressive turn up revelers gathered to watch Knowless performing some of her legendary songs including Konashize’, ‘Baramushaka’, and ‘Nzabampari’ among others.

"The reception was amazing and the attendance was fantastic plus the venue was top notch, my first show in the US was beyond my expectations,” Knowless told The New Times after the show.

In addition to the concert, Knowless and her manager and husband Clement Ishimwe had the opportunity to connect with students pursuing music business program at Colorado State University. The singer took the aspiring music professionals through the industry, sharing insights from her own journey as an established artiste.

The students are expected to visit Rwanda in 2025 as part of a cultural and educational exchange, marking a promising opportunity for deeper ties between Rwanda and the United States.

The African Rhythms event was also a platform to promote cultural exchange and understanding, the show exemplified its mission of celebrating diversity and fostering international connections.
