After Computer Point splash Rwf5m in event

AFTER falling short in the Presidents Cup and last Saturday’s May MTN Monthly mug, Marcel Byusa wants to get it right when the two-day Captains Cup gets underway this Saturday at Kigali Golf Club.

The handicap 09 golfer, who also doubles as the Club’s captain has been so near yet so far to the prize brackets in recent weeks and certainly wants to get it right this weekend.

Technically, the event teed off on Monday with a caddies’ competition but real action starts this Saturday in four categories; professionals, national team, amateurs and junior golfers.

With a lucrative package (Rwf5 million) from Computer Point, one of KGC’s loyal partners, trophies and cash prizes are at stake for top players.

Speaking about Computer Point’s contribution, the company’s business development manager Nehal Batavia said, "Sponsoring the Captains Cup is a matter of prestige for us as a company. It is one of our social responsibilities and we are happy to get involved in any way we can.”

Over 120 participants are expected to take part.

Last year, Fraterne Rubangura emerged winner after a two-shot victory over Ezra Bunyenyezi and Jack Kayonga.

Like Presidents Cup played in honour of the out-going Club President, Captains Cup is played to honour the Club’s outgoing captain.
