Zambia Football Association (FAZ) has urged all stakeholders to be united ahead of the country’s crunch 2010 World / African Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda this Saturday.

According to Zambia’s Daily Mail, FAZ’s communications officer, Erick Mwanza appealed to all stakeholders to desist from issuing statements that could distract the nation from focusing on Saturday’s game.

"Let’s remain united and support the national team. We are so grateful to President Banda. He has been very supportive to the national team and the best way to appreciate is to deliver on Saturday,” said Mwanza.

Meanwhile, the Amavubi Stars arrived in Lusaka on Wednesday. The wasps are seeded in Group C with Zambia, Algeria and Champions Egypt and all teams have one point after drawing their first qualifiers.

Egypt was held to a 1-1 draw in Cairo, while Amavubi played out a goalless draw against the desert foxes of Algeria.

Tucak Branko’s team lost 2-0 against Malawi in an international friendly on March 30 in Blantyre and will need to up their game against the Chipolopolo tomorrow.
