REG 71-63 APR

Rwanda Energy Group (REG) Women’s Basketball Club were, on Friday, October 11, crowned the 2023/24 Women’s Basketball League champions after a 71-63 victory against APR in Game 4 of the finals.

The win secured REG a clean 4-0 sweep in the best-of-seven series.

REG’s point guard Destiney Philoxy delivered an outstanding performance in game 4, contributing 14 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists to power REG to victory.

American center Kristina Morgan also played a key role throughout the series, and her championship-winning performance earned her the Playoffs’ Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

As the 2023/24 champions, REG will represent Rwanda at the 2024 Africa Zone Five Club Championship, scheduled to take place in Zanzibar between October and November.
