Through you, I would like to extend a vote of thanks to Rwanda Revenue Authority for the tremendous work they are doing. Over the last few months, Rwanda’s tax body has implemented various reforms aimed at streamlining the process of paying tax.

The most recent is the Authority’s announcement of online services in order to get a tax clearance certificate.  This will not only save time but also increase efficiency.  

Streamlining and simplifying clearance procedures are beneficial to the business community and the national economy as well. 

The authority should also be applauded for its implementation of the recent policy to have border posts working longer hours.

This will definitely help in reducing the numbers of hours spent clearing at the border posts and avoiding un-necessary costs of spending nights at borders.

Some of these changes may appear small, but they impact heavily on Rwanda’s economic growth.
