With only one day before Amavubi take on the Zambian national team head coach Herve Renard is confident his team will win the crucial 2010 World/Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda.

The French born tactician told the Zambian Times newspaper that his team has prepared well enough for the match and that the squad had team spirit which was important for such a big match.

"Our preparations for the Rwanda match have so far been fantastic. The Players have shown dedication and desire to win the match.

"What is important is team spirit and it is there in the squad,” Renard told the Times newspaper yesterday.

The Chipolopolo have also been boosted by the arrival professional players like Armenia-based Emmanuel Mbola, France based striker Jacob Mulenga, defender Micheck Lungu from Hungary and Israel based striker Emanuel Mayuka.

The wasps are seeded in Group C with Zambia, Algeria and Champions Egypt and all teams have one point after drawing their first qualifiers.

Egypt was held to a 1-1 draw in Cairo, while Amavubi played out a goalless draw against the desert foxes of Algeria.

The Rwandan delegation touched base in Lusaka last evening from neighbouring Malawi where the team has been camping since last Wednesday.

Branko Tucak’s team lost 2-0 against Malawi in an international friendly on March 30 in Blantyre and will need to up their game against the Chipolopolos on Saturday.

The last time Rwanda and Zambia met, the later won 1-0 in the semifinal of the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup fours ago in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Zambia, who were appearing as guest participants won the tournament after beating Sudan 11-10 on penalties in the final.
