Cameroon and Barcelona star Samuel Eto’o is expected to fly into Kigali later this month to participate in a charity match at Amahoro Stadium.

The football match is aimed at supporting the One Dollar Campaign, a project developed by the Rwandan Diaspora community to support orphans and survivors of the Genocide against the Tutsi.

Eto’o, who last Wednesday helped Barca defeat Manchester United 2-0 in the Champions League final after netting his side’s opener, can now proudly boast to be the most decorated African footballer of all time.

Although the exact dates are yet to be confirmed, the charity match will be played after Rwanda’s next two 2010 World Cup/ African Nations Cup qualifier against Zambia and Egypt.

Sports Minister Joseph Habineza, told Times Sport last month that he’s hoping that the Barcelona striker will be able to attract other top name African players to the game.

It will be Eto’o second visit to Rwanda, the first dating back in 2006 when Cameroon pulled off a 3-0 victory over Amavubi Stars during the 2006 World and Africa Nations Cup qualifier.

Rwandan fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the prolific striker, who has just enjoyed his most successful season with the Catalans after winning a treble and almost certainly secured himself the African player of the year award for the fourth time.
