At least 50 families of Genocide Survivors in Gasabo District over the weekend received donations from Revival Temple, a church located in Gasabo District, Remera Sector. The donation given to the survivors included an assortment of food stuffs that included beans, maize flour and rice.
Speaking to The New Times, the church pastor, Godfrey Gatete, said that the donation was made as part of the church’s programme of reaching out to these families to get them out of isolation.
On top of donating food to the families, the church also pays cloths and school fees for the orphans of the Genocide in this area.
Gatete said that the donations are generated from his church believers who also endeavor to pay for them communal health insurance commonly known as Mutuelle de Sante.
According to Canissius Majyambere, another pastor at the church, the donation is not directed at only believers of this church but for all poor families affected by the Genocide.
