The Eto I am talking about is not the famous Barcelona football player from Cameroon. I am talking about 14 year old Fabrice Ndayisaba a.k.a Eto, a Rwandan who adopted Eto’s name. 

Ndayisaba said that he adopted the name Eto when on September 1st, 2006 he was told to receive Eto and other footballers who had come to Rwanda.

He said that news was broadcasted on televisions, radios and newspapers. Thereafter, people started calling him Eto’s child until today. 

"I am very proud to be called Eto and in the future I want to be like him,” he says.

This encounter with the real footballer Eto was Ndayisaba’s inspiration because it increased his passion for football. Talking to ‘The Children’s Times’, young Eto said that he started playing football at the age of 9.

Fabrice today is playing in APR’s junior team. Three years from now, he hopes to join the senior APR team.

This he says is with the help of all his coaches, mentors and friends and the Minister of Sports and Culture, Joseph Habineza. They daily encourage and support him.
