Strictly Soul, Africa’s leading R&B and Soul event platform, is set to expand its presence in East Africa this October.

Known for creating dynamic music experiences and live shows, the event continues to establish itself as an influencing soulful rhythm of R&B in the region’s nightlife and music celebration.

Kampala will be Strictly Soul’s next stop on October 8, before shifting to Nairobi, Kenya, on October 9, and Kigali, Rwanda, on October 12.

The music concept has already built a loyal community of fans in East Africa, and the upcoming multi-city tour aims to strengthen those connections. While mixing international R&B hits with local sounds, the event also offers a unique cultural fusion that connects with audiences.

This mix was well-received in Kigali earlier in 2024 during the platform’ debut in March, where contemporary R&B—featuring a mix of keyboards, synthesisers, bass lines, and drum beats—was embraced by the city’s music lovers at Atelier Du Vin.

Speaking about the upcoming tour, Strictly Soul founder and music curator Akio Kawahito said, "This tour marks another exciting chapter for us. East Africa has long embraced our vision; this October, we aim to deepen those connections. Our goal is to continue to grow the pan-African R&B and Soul community, bringing the soul of the genre to every corner of the continent.”

According to Dj Akio, the October tour will feature performances from local DJs alongside the signature Strictly Soul atmosphere, giving fans an immersive experience that showcases both the global influence and local flavours of R&B.
