Kigali City Council (KCC) and American evangelist Andrew Palau will partner with Hope Rwanda to give more meaning to the 100 days of hope.
The 100 days of hope are organized to symbolize the duration the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi took.
According to Bruno Rangira, the KCC Media and Communications Officer, the three have designed different projects for water supply, construction of feeder roads, and building houses for the 1994 Genocide survivors in Kigali City.
"We are a principle partner and we deal a lot with mobilising and other necessary support they need,” he said Friday.
Rangira said that the water project which has already kicked off is a 3 year project that will cover 80 schools (both primary and secondary) around Kigali city using water catchments system, water storage tanks and drilling for it in some areas may be considered.
"They are also going to build houses for poor Genocide survivors and they will also be involved in greening the environment that will make the city clean.”
In what has been dubbed as Season of service (SOS), several other institutions are also joining the cause of ‘help yourself as others help you’.
"We are mobilising churches to get involved in the development of their own community. But this is not only for the church, any individual or companies can pick up something that can help in developing the community,” Pastor Joel Sengoga the Director of Hope Rwanda said Friday.
