The Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Jeannette Bayisenge, has expressed her deepest sympathy to the family of the young siblings who were killed in a road accident in Kigali over the weekend.
Words of comfort have been pouring in on social media as people reacted to the traffic accident in which a truck rolled over a bridge in Muhima on Sunday, October 23, claiming six lives.
Several others, including the siblings’ grandmother, were injured.
Joseph Fruit Sikubwabo, 15, Herve Shami Sikubwabo, 13, and Honore Racine Sikubwabo, 10, were the only children their parents had.
"It is profound sorrow for a family to lose three children at once and it is such a great loss for the Rwandan society in general because children are the hope of the country,” Bayisenge wrote on Twitter on Tuesday evening.
"As the Rwandan community, we comfort Sikubwabo’s family and those who lost their relatives due to the road accident. Condolences.”
The siblings will be laid to rest on Wednesday at the Rusororo cemetery.
