KidfromKigali, one of the rising stars in the city's rap scene, has joined forces with American rapper Skilla Baby for their much-anticipated track, "Business."
Released on Friday, October 4, the collaboration arrives as Rwanda's music industry continues its global rise, and the track is already poised to climb local charts.
Skilla Baby's raps reflect a blend of thoughtful insight and unique perspective, showcasing his undeniable charisma. His signature growl, relatable lyrics, and excellent beat selection have established him as a notable figure in Detroit's competitive rap scene.
No stranger to the US music scene, KidfromKigali has previously made waves with his freestyles over top-tier beats from American producers. Before teaming up with Detroit’s Skilla Baby, he had also worked with renowned rapper Chief Wuk.

In an interview with The New Times, the 25-year-old rapper emphasized that collaborating with Skilla Baby aligns with his ambition to not only dominate the local music scene but also to make his mark on the international stage through partnerships with global artists.
"'Business' serves as an inspiration to all Kids from Kigali, showing that you don’t have to be confined to a box; you can dream big and work hard to achieve your goals,” Kid From Kigali shared. He reflected on his early music journey, which focused on establishing his presence in his hometown, and expressed his desire to cultivate a global fan base.
"I’m currently pushing an international sound to reach a broader audience and share the messages and stories I want to convey to the world,” he added.

This latest collaboration continues Kid From Kigali's fruitful partnership with Green Mountain Entertainment (GME), a new record label with aspirations to elevate the local music scene by bridging young Rwandan talent with prominent U.S. musicians.
"I’m incredibly thankful for the support of Major Kev and Divin Ngabonziza, the minds behind GME, who helped bring this project to life. Our goal is to promote the music of our local talents and producers, such as jokassh and Ehl3rs, and elevate it to new heights,” he expressed.
