I pass on my sincere appreciation to the media in Rwanda. What the media did on Tuesday in the village of Urugwiro was something unique and splendid.

It’s rare for journalists to have private meetings or retreats with the head of state as the media is always considered unfriendly especially to some government officials who claim the information published is incorrect.

 I got extremely happy when I read the Friday New times and saw the picture of the president celebrating his 50th birthday with journalists from different media houses.

Big thanks to all the media houses. I believe this is a big step taken.
