Editor,

The famous Chinese war lord Sun Tzu said in his legendary book the Art of War that even great commanders can lose a winnable war by using wrong tactics.

Sir Alex Ferguson certainly got it wrong with the tactical changes, he employed against Barcelona in the Champions League final on Wednesday night.

Manchester United was the absolute favorites to make history by retaining the prestigious champions League trophy. But the United gaffer’s decision to omit work horse Carlos Tevez from the starting eleven worked against the Reds.

Giggs and Anderson did not look like playing the whole night and it proved costly for the reds when they conceded a scrappy goal in the first half. And were later caught off guard by the Lionel Messi guy who is 5ft!
