Strikers Bokota Labama and Elias Uzamukunda were recalled to the national team ahead of Sunday’s friendly game with Malawi in Blantyre. Aloua Gaseruka (defender) also made the 19-man squad while Belgian based midfielder Jimmy Mulisa and the APR duo of Jean Bosco Uwacu and Arafat Serugendo missed out. Amavubi Stars head coach Tucak Branko also saw no room for Emery Mvuyekure, Donatien Tuyisenge and Abdul Uwimana.

Uzamukunda, Labama and Gaseruka all missed Rwanda’s first 2010 World/CAN qualifier against Algeria back in March.

The team jetted out last night to South Africa from where they would connect to Blantyre for the friendly. From Malawi, the team will head to Lusaka for their crunch 2010 World/CAN qualifier against Zambia’s Chipolopolo on June 6.

Rwanda were held to a goalless home draw in their first qualifier against Algeria and are desperate for a good result in Lusaka to boost their World/ CAN hopes.
