Point guard Odile Tetero bagged a game-high 14 points to power Rwanda Energy Group (REG) club to a convincing 78-51 Game 2 win over Kepler on Sunday, September 29, and put one foot in the betPawa finals.
The 26-year-old added three rebounds and four assists, as REG women extended their lead to 2-0 in the best-of-five semifinals series taking place at Petit Stade indoor gymnasium in Remera.
REG, who are currently under Spanish coach Julian Martinez, were in highflying form from the very beginning of the game, winning the first two quarters 15-11 and 29-17 to open a 16-point lead at the break.
The club maintained the momentum in the second half, taking the third quarter 17-13. Kepler managed to win the last quarter 17-19 but it wasn’t enough to turn their deficit around.
Besides Tetero, Rosine Micomyiza and Linda Uwitonze contributed 12 and 10 points respectively to REG’s winning cause.

With the win, REG now leads the semi-finals series 2-0, having won Game 1 107-45 on Friday.
Both teams return to action for Game 3 on Wednesday, October 2, at 8:30pm with REG now a win away from qualifying for the finals.
In the earlier game of the day, APR took Game 2 of the best-of-five semifinal playoffs series after beating Groupe Scolaire Marie Reine de Rwaza 61-37. The win also saw the army side’s women extend their lead to 2-0.
The semifinals playoffs of the women&039;s basketball league are played in a best-of-five series, while the finals will be extended to a best-of-seven series.
