The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Algerian international referee Lotfi Bekouassa to handle the 2025 AFCON qualifiers encounter between Benin and Rwanda at the Felix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Côte d'ivoire on October 11.

He will be assisted by his fellow countrymen Adel Abane and Hamza Bouzit as assistant referees, while Djaouad Abdelmoumen Touabti will be the fourth official.
The 37-year-old centre referee was among those who officiated at the 2024 All Africa Games in Accra, Ghana, where he was in charge of the Ghana vs Congo encounter on March 8.
The return leg between Rwanda and Benin is scheduled for October 15 at Amahoro Stadium, and it will be officiated by Rakotojaona Andofetra, a Madagascan referee.
Rwanda is currently in third position of Group D with two points, having recorded two draws against Libya and Nigeria. Benin is in second position with three points, following a 3-0 defeat to Nigeria and a 2-1 win over Libya.
