Local leaders must keep within limits

Editor,
Allow me space in your newspaper so I can express my concern over the some government officials.
Some policies that some local leaders instituted have a hint of unserious-ness about them.
For example, here in Umutara local leaders along in cahoots with Local Defence personnel are harassing people because their homes aren’t roofed with iron sheets, ‘mabati’. When ones house isn’t properly roofed, you are fined Rwf 10,000.
People want these nice iron sheets, but they are too poor to afford them.
The leadership in some areas is too intrusive; they are telling people what colour they should paint their homes and such.
What’s next? Shall these people tell us what to wear as well?
