Rwanda’s Gervais Hakizimana is still determined to continue his ambitions of running in Steeple Chase races.

Steeple Chase is a lengthy race of 3000m, with four ordinarily barriers and one water jump. 

In an email from the Belgian based runner, Hakizimana said that after competing in a number of local tournaments in Belgium, he is set to cut himself loose on the international scene. In particular, Hakizimana has set his targets on the London Olympics of 2012.

Hakizimana is meanwhile set to miss Sunday’s prestigious Kigali International marathon

The marathon, that is expected to attract over 4000 athletes has four categories; 42km full marathon, 21km half marathon, 5km run for fun marathon and 10km relay.
