In a bid to bring their products close to their clients, Rwandatel has signed contracts with 12 other distributors.  

These contracts will give Rwandatel’s distributors specific territories around the country. Distributors spell out specific targets and layout elaborate incentives to distributors.

Rwandatel has invested over $74 million within the last 12 months.

"We are now in the aggressive phase to drive the availability of our products through our distributors,” the CEO of Rwandatel, Patrick Kariningufu explained after the signing of the contracts.

According to Kariningufu, Rwandatel’s countrywide distributor channel is expanding.

"We are now ready to sell our products and services in all parts of the country. We are pleased that our plan of distributing all over Rwanda is ahead of Schedule,” he revealed.

"Our commitment with our distributors is to ensure that our products are available to our customers in a convenient manner. Rwandatel’s target is to ensure that each and every customer can get our products in the normal course of their day today activities without having to go out of their way to search for them,” Kariningufu added.

The CEO also said that Rwandatel’s goal is to have the largest distribution channel by December throughout the country.

Asked what criteria the company would used to pick these distributors the CEO said, "These are prominent business people around town and they understand the market, they have been working with us for a long time and we are in a good relationship.”

Rwandatel recently launched its 3G GSM network in December 2008. Rwandatel provides voice and data communication solutions that include fixed telephony, ISP and data communication.

The company has the largest fixed line network in Rwanda and it offers video telephony and high speed internet.
