We write or make resolutions every New Year about things we would like to achieve during the year. Two months into the New Year and we some how forget the good plans we hoped to achieve. New Year resolutions, for many, are usually non practical and go unaccomplished.

New Year resolutions, for many, are usually non practical and go unaccomplished. The need and resolute to change has to be internal. One has to have gone through some shift to sustain that change, otherwise it will never come.
People’s lack of commitment to stick to what they have set is one of the reasons they fall back on achieving their resolutions. For example, you think of enrolling to the gym to keep fit but you never make it because of other commitments.
In such a case, we end up making excuses, forgetting that all we need to do to achieve that goal is to consciously make time to work out. Some people make resolutions and end up giving up.
At the beginning of this year, just like everybody else, I made a list of the things I wanted to achieve. I checked in my note book last weekend and was so disappointed that it is getting to the middle of the year yet out of fourteen resolutions, I have only achieved two.
I think some goals are not attainable, meaning that some of the resolutions we make do not match the span of time within which we hope to achieve them. Last year, I planned to be health conscious by consuming more fruits and water, and generally eating healthy foods.
I convinced myself that the junk meals I was taking were to cease from the end of last year. I am yet to fulfill that goal. Influence from friends also gets in the way. You plan to cut on partying and drinking, only to be drawn back to it by friends.
Naturally, if you want to achieve your set goals, seek God’s guidance. Walking in his will will open your eyes to clearly see what you ought to do and what you ought not to do. As you write down your resolutions you will have the assurance that you will achieve all of them.
All I did was give all that I had not achieved to God and now everything seems to be falling in line. Nice Sunday and good luck in your resolutions, you can still make it.
