AS Kigali WFC vs Rayon Sports WFC

Venue: Kigali Pele Stadium

Kickoff: 4PM

Rwanda’s local women football powerhouses AS Kigali WFC and Rayon Sports will once again square off in the 2024 FERWAFA Super Cup on Thursday, September 26 at Kigali Pele Stadium.

The two teams will be up against each other for the fifth time in 2024, with each side having two wins from their last four meetings.

AS Kigali lost the 2023/24 league title to the Blues, mainly after the latter beat them home and away, to be crowned champions.

Rayon completed their double by winning the Peace Cup as week, ending the City of Kigali-sponsored team’s decade-long domestic dominance.

The Heroes Cup was the least AS Kigali could win last season, defeating Rayon Sports 1-0 in the final through a Jeannette Ukwinkunda header.

Despite sharing two wins, Rayon proved to be a better side than AS Kigali during the 2023/24 campaign where they won two major trophies.

However, Burundian attacker Peace Olga warned that she and her teammates are well poised to turn things around ahead of Thursday’s Super Cup clash.

"It&039;s a good opportunity to face them again as they won all the trophies last season," Olga told Times Sport.

The women’s Super Cup match saw the Police and Kiyovu’s league game, which had initially been scheduled at 3PM, moved earlier at 2PM.
