Etincelles FC will host APR FC in the Rwanda Premier League on Saturday, September 28.

The management of Etincelles FC is seeking financial support from Rubavu District to clear players’ salary dues before hosting APR FC in the Rwanda Premier League on Saturday, September 28.

Times Sport has learnt that players have not reported to training since Monday, September 23, after the club management failed to pay their salaries for the past two months.

The development has been a big source of worry to the club's top hierarchy which is now looking for an immediate solution so that the players can resume training and prepare to host APR on their home ground Umuganda Stadium.

A reliable source at the club told Times Sport that the players have made it clear that they won’t play APR match unless their arrears are paid.

The club’s management has now contacted the district administration for instant support as they hope to clear the balance by Thursday morning, the source said.

"Talks are ongoing and money could be released soon,” he said.

Before the 2024/25 season started Etincelles unveiled a budget of Rwf 350 million to the district. However, they only received Rwf 127 million.

Etincelles have drawn three of their last four Rwanda Premier League matches so far this season while one more match ended in defeat.
