Volleyball: 33 coaches pass Level Two course

AS part of enhancing the technical side of volleyball coaching, Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB) organised an FIVB Level Two coaching course which attracted 33 local coaches.
The five-day course, which run from September 19-23 saw coaches undertaking theory at Hilltop Hotel, while the practical aspect of the course was held at National Paralympic Indoor Gymnasium in Remera.
The course was facilitated by international instructor Johann Huber from Austria and he was assisted by Rwandan coach Dominique Ntawangundi.
"We have some coaches who need more training, especially at top level and, at the grassroots and even at the national level. Therefore, we need to give them the minimum required skills,” FRVB president Raphael Ngarambe said.
"We are working hard to improve the level of our coaches which will, in turn, improve the technical ability of players.”
The 33 coaches who attended the course include 30 from Rwandan, two Kenyans and one Cameroonian. Some of them are coaching in top clubs in their respective leagues while others are still players preparing to become coaches after retiring from international volleyball.
The likes of APR men’s team assistant coach Mathieu Rwanyonga, APR Women head coach Peter Kamasa and players like Olivier Ntagengwa, Fred Musoni, Judith Hakizimana, Yvan Mahoro, Vincent Gasongo Dusabimana, Jose Umutesi, Yvette Igihozo Cyuzuzo and Charlotte Nzayisenga were among participants who passed the Level Two course.
