Knowless Butera confirms first US performance

Celebrated Rwandan musician Butera Knowless is awaited in Colorado, United States where she will perform at the 'African Rhythms' show on October 10.

Organized by the 'Global Livingston Institute,' the event, which will take place at the Reelworks Denver, will be Knowless’ first performance outside the country in 2024 and her maiden US show.

The ‘Warurihe’ hit maker told The New Times that performing at this event is an incredible honor which is aligned with her dream of driving her music impact beyond just Rwanda.

"It feels amazing to be part of something so significant and to share my art with a wider audience. It is also an opportunity which is going to allow me to showcase my passion and connect with people on a deeper level,” she said in an interview.

Knowless, who is doing music under Kina Music management, further called on all her fans residing in the US to come through in big numbers as she looks forward to celebrating ‘Rwanda music with the diaspora community.

Knowless has enjoyed success during her prime days of her music career, recording big hits with a host of local and regional artistes including the likes of Tanzanian singer and songwriter Ben Pol, Ugandan dancehall artist Vampino, as well as fellow Rwandan artistes Danny Nanone, Paccy Kizito, Ciney, Jay Polly and US-based Rwandan singer Kamichi, among others.

The 'Global Livingston Institute', which is the brains behind the concert, was established in Rwanda and Uganda in 2009 by one Jamie Van Leeuwen, with a mission to help address some of the key problems faced by youths on the African continent.
