"I am an instructor at the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) in charge of tax payers’ education but I also work with City Radio in the evenings,” Fikiri Nshimiyimana starts by way of introduction. Below he enlightens us on his typical day:
I make sure that by 5:30a.m I am awake. I take a shower and have breakfast.

I leave home, in Nyamirambo, at about 6:30a.m and it takes me about half an hour to get to my place of work. The trip to work costs me Rwf 700 since, in order to keep time, I board a motor-cycle.

I work from 7a.m up to 5p.m. I sometimes get some time to have lunch but not always. This is because sometimes I have a lot to do in a limited space of time.

After 5p.m, I have an hour’s break and by 6p.m, I am at City Radio to take on the two-hour ‘A thousand hills’ evening show.
After the show, depending on my other plans, I usually ensure that by 9p.m I am home.

At home, I take a bath, freshen up and watch movies or enjoy some music. I usually have supper at 10p.m and at about 11p.m I go to bed.
