ITM Africa Ltd, a Rwandan subsidiary of ITM Group which focuses on human resources services celebrated its fifth anniversary of developing human capital in the country, helping local job seekers to secure jobs and employers to get competent staff.

The celebration event named "ITM Big 5” took place at Kigali Marriot Hotel on Friday, October 21.

Founded in 2011 by Sylva Monga, ITM (registered as "International Training & Motivation”) started as a training and personnel management company with the vision to create a workforce of excellence on the African continent. It expanded operations to Rwanda in 2017.

According to Dorcas Rutunda, Country Manager of ITM Africa Ltd, since the year 2017, the company has helped over 2000 people to get jobs through different programs, has trained over 3500 workers and helped over 200 institutions through different services including consultancy, and human resources; training employees and have them hired by companies.

She said they have also done over 50 Community Social Responsibility (CSR) activities including supporting vulnerable Rwandans, Genocide survivors, paying Mutuelle de Santé for people, visiting orphanages as well as homes of children with disability.

Rutunda declared that they are rolling out a new service which is managing call centers, given that during Covid-19, many institutions realised they had to take care of customers whether during work time or not, declaring that ITM Africa have employees who are ready to offer the service.

She also thanked those who supported them over the past five years including the government.

Fanfan Rwanyindo Kayirangwa, Minister of Public Service and Labour commended the progress ITM Africa has made in Rwanda for the last five years and its continued contribution to human capital in the country, the region and all over the world.

She also commended the company’s Pan-Africanism, adding that they expect from it to keep nurturing and creating a critical mass of experts and professionals in different sectors for the local labour market, to serve both the public and private sectors and create a workforce of excellence on the African continent.

Minister Kayirangwa also reiterated the support from the Ministry she heads and thanked ITM Africa for its commitment towards engaging the youth through their job-readiness programs that focus on equipping fresh graduates with employability skills, linking them with potential employers.

Jean de la Paix Mbonimpa represented sales agents who work with Canal Box but were outsourced by ITM Africa.

He said they underwent training related to employment, specifically sales force training, where they were trained in marketing and sales and are currently using the skills to perform their job well.

He thanked the company for helping him and his fellows to get jobs when they had just graduated from the university, and for basing on their competencies.

Mbonimpa also urged ITM Africa to continue helping other job seekers and institutions in need of human resources services.

Currently, ITM is represented in 10 countries (Angola, Benin, DRC, Germany, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Congo Brazzaville, and Togo).
