The mayor expressed concern over the growing challenge of plastic waste, stressing that Kigali&039;s green reputation relies on individual responsibility. He also unveiled plans to plant three million trees across the city, urging landowners to join this five-year initiative. The city estimates that over 90 percent of underutilized spaces will need to be transformed into gardens to enhance urban beautification.

Responding to questions from music manager Alexis Muyoboke and singer Uncle Austin, Mayor Dusengiyumva revealed plans to create more affordable venues for performances over the next five years. "We are working to provide more venues that are accessible to all artists," he said, acknowledging that venues like BK Arena are often too costly for emerging talent.

He suggested alternative locations such as the car-free zone and Canal Olympia as interim solutions for performances.

The mayor, who admitted that comedy has become his preferred way to unwind, also highlighted the importance of supporting young people in their artistic pursuits. He stressed that while education is essential, nurturing talent can also pave the way for success, encouraging parents to find a balance between academics and fostering their children's creative skills.

"Education and talent development should go hand in hand," he advised, urging the Gen-Z Comedy crowd to honor their parents while pursuing their dreams.
