The third edition of ‘Bigomba Guhinduka’ is set to take place on September 2, at Kigali Convention and Exhibition village, commonly known as Camp Kigali. The comedy show returns after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19. It last took place in October 2019.
‘Bigomba Guhinduka’ is a Kinyarwanda phrase that translates to "it has got to change’’, and the show focuses on societal issues that have to change, ranging from dressing, to relating with members of the opposite sex, and social media, among other things.
Japhet Mazimpaka, founder of ‘Bigomba Guhinduka’, previously told The New Times that they had two successful editions and paused due to the pandemic which didn’t allow them to continue, but now they are back.
Commenting on what people should expect in this coming edition, he says they have to be ready for the best show.
"We will give our audience the best performance because a lot happened and we created very many jokes from it all. So we expect many people show up,” he adds.
In addition, he points out that in this edition people will have a chance to watch the duo Etienne 5K and Japhet perform a new skit called ‘Muhamagare’. Mazimpaka further adds that the show will feature various comedians as well, though the line-up is yet to be announced.
Tickets for regular seats are Rwf5, 000, Rwf10, 000 for VIP, Rwf20, 000 for VVIP, and Rwf150, 000 for a table of six people.
